Dear Pharaoh #3 - Pharaoh? Why would you do that?
Always remain connected to the universe, this is your strength.
Dear Pharaoh,
This is probably one of the most important weeks of my life thus far and guess what? I fell sick lol… I have the coughs and headaches. Things I hardly get but then again I’ve been wearing up shorts and sliders in this bipolar English weather.
Anyways… I am upset with you. This is the first time, in the 4 years of your life, that I have actually been upset with your actions. I am not disappointed I could never be disappointed by you but I am deeply upset.
Do I blame myself? If I was not sick or had signs of this plague, you would be here with me, going about your every day and not currently at grandmas where the incident occurred.
You cut your hair!
The story was told that scissors were left out and you reached for them and you cut two small areas of your hair… why would you do that? I remained composed but heated inside and spoke to you over FaceTime.
I will tell you why I am upset.
The tips of your hair are the areas in which your mother touched, nurtured, your head of hair is as much yours, as it is hers, as it is mine. Your hair is your antenna that connects you to the universe. Your strength of wisdom, your intuition and your power all comes from your beautiful mane. There is a biblical story I will read to you soon - it is a story of a man named Samson, uncut his hair gave him immerse physical strength but he was betrayed by love and more. To be honest, any story that involves the love of a woman leads to the destruction of a man whether it is his freedom or his name or a kingdom without her - he will be tamed by the power they hold.
Even though your name is Pharaoh, this is a European name, Egyptian Kings were not called Pharaohs in their native tongue. In Hebrew, your name Pharaoh translate to ˈfɛər oʊ’ or Pharao or in other proposed translations: Pa-ra ‘The Sun’ or Pi-ouro “The King” or Per-aa ‘The great house’. The ‘Ra’ in your name is very important, so please correct all who spells your name wrong as they are killing your power.
The Egyptians believed in a matriarchy, that the woman - the creator - were Gods on earth, as women are the only beings on this earth with the ability to give life. Man on the other hand can only nurture or take it. Male Pa-ra’s believed that once you reached a certain level of wisdom you were adorned with a wig of lavish hair. This head of hair was only afforded to the upper-middle classes and the elites - This same concept was taken on by the Assyrians, Phoenicians, Greeks, and Romans. The British Empire also took on this same concept in the 16th hundreds, in courts and at royal galas, as well as, the french in the 17th - Literally speaking, your head of hair is that of which is royalty, it is a showcase of ultimate wisdom and power, and male per-aa mirrored their female counterparts by wearing such lavish items.
For every stage in your life, I wish for you to hold your hair in high regard.
I looked at you over FaceTime, you knew something was wrong so you played coy and instead of shouting at you or calling you ‘naughty’ - which I never do by the way - I told you to repeat after me.
Pharaoh repeat after me, please… “My hair is my power”… Pharaoh I can’t hear you… “My hair is my power”… You mumble… Pharaoh “My hair is my power”… You speak louder with conviction “My hair is my power” “my hair is my power” “my hair is my power”… Good.
Please do not cut your hair again, as you are cutting away parts of your power. You are cutting away your history, your culture, your connectivity, your essence. You are powerful and will become more than I’d ever dream to be.
On your journey, you will go down some tricky roads but just know I’ll be there -whether in spirit or flesh - whenever needs be.
Love Dad
Gosh so many of us can relate to this incident. Held my breath the whole time while reading. This was handled with so much poise bro! Also the lesson on baby boy’s name was great insight!
